Bird Cage Theatre - Tombstone, AZ
January 4th, 2009

The Bird Cage Theatre opened its doors on Christmas Day, 1881 and it is told that for the next eight years it operated 24/7. Noted for being a performance place for some of the most popular entertainers of the era (Eddy Foy, Lotta Crabtree, Lillie Langtry, Lola Montez, and Lillian Russel) it also had a reputation for prostitution and gunfights. A year after its opening it was labeled " the wildest, wickedest night spot between Basin Street and the Barbary Coast."  It is no wonder it earned that distinction as it was frequented by such notorious people as Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday.
The Bird Cage earned its name for the balconies that lined the second floor of the main room. While these alcoves gave a great view of the stage, they were more suited for the curtained privacy they ensured "gentleman" who were getting private performances from the ladies of the night.

All things must come to an end, however, and the theater closed its doors by 1889.  It sat empty for decades until it was reopened and restored as a tourist attraction in the early 1930's.

Joe and Rachael had the opportunity to spend time in the building while visiting Tombstone, Arizona, excited to not only walk the haunted rooms, but to also investigate the same space TAPS did on Ghost Hunters.

As we entered the theater we were told stories about the building by the owner and paid a small fee to go into the rest of the building.  There were other people in the tour but we tried to stay as far away from them as we could.

The first sight that greeted us was the wonderful stage and the ornateness of the large room.
I even cough an impressive anomaly appearing to come right out from the opening under the stage.
The room was packed with artifacts and memorabilia.  Joe got right down to the EVP's and questioning while I roamed the building taking pictures. I did not have an audio recorder with me here.

While Joe was walking around at the very beginning of the recording he caught what sounds like a sentence being spoken. Although there was plenty of background noise it is very distinct, almost sounding like "I'm with..." but I can't make out the rest of it.

Another voice we have is also caught over background noise. To us it sounds like "Get out".

While standing behind the curtain on the stage where the piano is I heard and odd tinkling noise, so distinct that I could even sing back the sequence of notes I heard. I asked Joe if he heard it as well and he had not but had asked while on the other side of the stage for someone to play him a tune. A few moments later I heard the exact same noise. While listening to the audio there is no sound of the noise, although you can hear me questioning Joe about it. Here is a view of the piano in front of the stage and right behind the curtain where I heard the jingling.

Once again while behind the stage I took a picture on the opposite side and caught this ball of light on the stair that looks like it is about to take flight.

While closely reviewing the pictures I took I came across two pictures, shot at about the same angle, in which we appear to have caught an apparition.  Pictures are put in at full size and not resized down. It has been noted that there is water damage in the booth noted...however Plains Paranormal believes this to be a legitimate apparition.
The first picture shows a booth with the dummy of a man sitting in a chair. The second picture has the same booth but shot from farther back, with the same dummy sitting down, but this time there is the figure of a woman standing behind him:
